Twilight

Built by H J Mears and Son, Axmouth in 1974, of mahogany planks and oak ribs. A motor launch with a forward cuddy, named Weezacumin, for Robin Barnard of Seaton.

A 10hp twin Stuart Turner 2 stroke petrol engine was fitted as new.

Robin then stored her at the Grove, Seaton for a few years then sold on to Jeff Holden of Christchurch. He then changed the name to Pickwick and used her for a number of years.

Purchased by Alan Abbott on 6th December 2005 and brought to Devon on a trailer with Roger Webber.

Fitted out as a Beer lugger 2005/2006, when the name changed to Twilight - as I am in my twilight years!. First sailed at Beer on 11th June 2007, skippered by Olliver Bagwell, son Martin and son-in-law Jason Allen. Peter Bagwell later took over as skipper and sailed at Looe and Mousehole regattas. I installed a Stuart Turner diesel engine in 2007.

Peter and crew still sailing her in 2014.

Twilight is 16foot 8inches long and has a mast of 19foot 10inches.
